What is Hypermobility?
Holistic Orthopedics is a Regional Hypermobility Center
When joints are overly flexible and move in excess of a normal range of motion they are considered hypermobile. When this occurs, symptoms can arise, such as muscle or joint pain. One of the more common connective tissue disorders seen at our clinic is a condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). Someone with hypermobility may have difficulty holding objects with their hands, have frequent ankle sprains, be 'accident prone', or have difficulty discerning where their body is in space. Hypermobility can impact the digestive system, bladder control, levels of anxiety, and blood pressure, among many others. Our clinicians are experts in fascia, the connective tissue responsible for stretch and flexibility. We approach each individual with tailored, in-depth evaluations, including myofascial length testing. We offer treatments that support anatomical alignment
& nervous system regulation to help our patients resume functional activities that bring quality of life.
Customized, gentle stretching & strengthening programs to enable return to safe movement.
